Weekend Recap

Well I meant to write more this weekend and now it's Monday nigh,t and I'm just sitting down to recap my 3-day weekend.

Friday night, I went to dinner with the hubs. Afterwards, I meant up with a couple of my college friends at this cute little wine bar and enjoyed some time catching up. I stayed out a bit too late...

Resulting in a rough wake up call for Saturday morning's marathon training run. 6:00 AM comes fast when you don't get to bed until 11:00 PM. Wow, I feel old. Anyway, the run was hilly, but I felt good the whole time. When my group was about a half mile away from the finish, we came across a crazy car accident. A little sports car was completely flipped on its head. It was crazy! As far as I know, no one was seriously injured - what a relief. After the run, I rushed home to get my house in order before my cousin came over. We went to lunch and did some shopping. We rarely see each other (she lives 2 hours away), so it was great to catch up. I was pretty much beat when she left, but some friends asked us out to dinner, so hubs and I joined. I had the most amazing tiramisu martini - ohhh yummy! Hubs and I rounded out the evening by watching a documentary on netflix called "Bill Cunninghma: New York." Basically, it was a documentary on his life as a fashion photographer for the NY Times. He's a pretty neat guy - I'd totally love to meet him!

I work up early Sunday morning and gathered my list of ideas for a portrait shoot I had later in the day. I enrolled in a digital photography course at the community college, so I was assigned to take outdoor, natural light protraits. More on my class and the assignment later.

Hubs and I are in the process of church shopping, so we sought out of first contender Sunday morning. The service was lovely and gave us much food for thought this week.

Hubs worked on the bathroom remodel afterward, and I went to take photos of my friend. The rest of the day, I spent reading and cleaning. (Two of my nerdy, favorite things to do.)

Today we both had vacation days, so there was a lot of relaxing / reading / and studying going on around our house. I woke up and headed to the gym for a fantastic workout. Seriously, if I could work out for my job, I'd do it in an instant. I spent the rest of today catching up on my reading.

Currently reading:
True Colors by Kristin Hannah (romantic fiction)
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy (self-help / motivation)
Blog, Inc. by Joy Cho(how to blog - duh!)

I'm working on my goal of reading 30 books in 2013! So far, so good, right?

Happy Monday evening!
