30 Days of Thankfulness: Freedom of Choice

In honor of election day, I am thankful for my freedom of choice. Although I feel my vote is insignificant due to the electoral college (bring on the boos & hisses), I still exercised my right. I can only pray the results will be positive for our country. Positive energy, my friends, positive energy.

30 Days of Thankfulness: Headache medicine

Okay, so I know this is ridiculous but I'm seriously thankful for headache medicine. I had a nasty sinus headache that began to develop towards the end of the work day and by the time I got home it was a full blown headache. I get horrible sick when I get headaches so that moment I stepped in the door I ran for my miracle medicine. Migraine meds are by far the best! My headache was gone within 20 minutes. I even managed to make homemade tempeh chilli and cornbread for dinner. Hooray for headache medicine.

30 Days of Thankfulness: My hubs

Today I'm thankful for my husband. We've been married for a little over three years yet we've been together for over eight. He is my best friend and sounding board. Although we can drive each other insane at times, we always come out of every spat with a better understanding of the issue at hand and how to deal with it in the future.

My husband takes care of me and I am thankful for his strong will and his protection. He sticks up for me and constantly does things for me around the house without even asking. I'm thankful for his hard-working attitude and drive to do the right thing.

I'm thankful and blessed to be married to my best friend!

30 Days of Thankfulness: Saturdays

I forgot to post yesterday's "thankfulness" - Oops! So I'm playing catch up. Yesterday I was thankful for my job. It's always changing and I'm constantly learning something new. I like the people that I work with (for the most part) which makes it much easier to go there everyday. My boss is very accommodating and we make a great  team. I'm also thankful for having a job. There are SO many people out of work these days. I'm blessed to make a decent salary, have benefits and work in a safe environment.

Now for today's thankfulness. I'm thankful for Saturdays! After my long work week, it's so nice to wake up on Saturday morning and be able to do what I want. This morning I didn't get to sleep in (due to our new dog puking in the bed - JOY!), but as I write it's 10:30AM and I have almost all of my housework done for the day. Hooray! By noon everything will be done and I'll be able to enjoy the rest of the afternoon which will involve a bit of shopping, reading and awaiting the arrival of my best friend and her hubs. Can't wait!

30 Days of Thankfulness: Opportunity

Today I'm starting a segment called "30 Days of Thankfulness" in honor of Thanksgiving this month. I was inspired by many people on my Facebook feed posting about what they are thankful for throughout the month of November. I also have a dear friend that continues this habit throughout the year with "Thankful Thursdays." I know I have A LOT to be thankful for, so I wanted to share with you over the next 30 days what I'm thankful in my life.

Today I'm thankful for OPPORTUNITY. I'm so blessed to have this simple opportunity to write and share my opinions. I'm thankful for the opportunity to try new things and take risks. I'm thankful for the opportunity to see my friends and family by making a simple phone call. I'm thankful for the opportunity to learn new things at my job. I'm thankful for the opportunity to adopt a puppy (more on this later this week).  Opportunity is all around me and I plan to continue taking advantage of everything at my fingers tips - even when it scares me to do so.
